I got 54 out of 60, but forget what percent that is. They killed me on the economics questions, though I got the one Kevin Jones missed, who, because of his score, will probably be banned from any further contests.
It doesn't matter what Dylan scores, as long as he keeps blogging.
I've never seen Beauty and the Geek, but it sounds like another of those phony reality shows. The karma from criticizing them accrues virtue in proportion to the criticism's cruelty.
Later. 6 stacks of papers to grade. And Chris expects me to sleep.
"Too bad Kevin let his hatred for neocons get in the way of a perfect score. *grin*"
Heh.
The question covered the last 20 years. Since I still subconsciously believe it's 2003, I thought the Reagan defense budget was included in that timeframe and would outweigh SS expenses.
I was thinking that the Virginia settlement was about twenty years earlier than it was. Oops. And I blew a question on the Fed (a stupid mistake, too).
"You answered 56 out of 60 correctly — 93.33 %" said the result page.
I stumbled over the Dismal Science: #s 52, 53, 58, & 60.
I would have gotten more wrong but after twenty or so questions I got the feel for what the compilers consider the correct answers to be. E.g., in #49 the answer desired is obviously B even though it isn't true. (Are "free enterprise" and "capitalism" really the same thing?)

What's yours?
Oh, and go to sleep!
49 out of 60 correctly -- 81.67%
90%.
Wow, I haven't bragged about a test result since high school.

I missed the very last question. I thought war cost more than social security.
Bill of Summa Minutiae missed 4, for a 93.3%... Too bad Kevin let his hatred for neocons get in the way of a perfect score. *grin*
Only around 80%. Probably bad 'karma' from making fun of the girls on "Beauty and the Geek." Now I feel plain and dull.

Dear Bill,

Erik might have to be banned too.
Same score as Bill, 54 correct, which is 90%, which would mean the same as TSO too.
90%, not bad considering that I have never formally studied economics and my last history class was in the 1970s.
Yeah, Zip, but your closer to 99% on the really important things.
Me too, Alicia, but I think I've read more history since leaving college than while in it.
It was odd. I missed, I think, #9, then didn't miss another until about 43. After that it was pure carnage.
85%, and I'm pretty proud of that!
You should be. You know more than Ellyn and only slightly less than TSO.
You answered 59 out of 60 correctly — 98.33 %
Average score for this quiz during September: 74.4%
Average score since September 18, 2007: 74.4%
Missed #58. I didn't like some of the answers, so I just picked the close approximation.
Well, at least everybody here seems better than average.
Peony sends word via email that she scored 90%, one of the questions missed concerning women's suffrage. Not enough of a feminist, I guess.
Let's try that again: Peony
Actually, 57/60 = 95.5%
Oh, so the comments box works after all. I knew if I put up the wrong number you'd make sure it did.
