Kevin Jones informs us that America magazine (an ostensibly Jesuit, ostensibly Catholic rag) has an annual poetry contest to which over 1300 aspirants contributed their efforts in hopes of snagging the $1,000 dollar prize. Kevin gives 2004's winning poem the evaluation it probably should have had prior to publication, and even digs up a better, shorter, and more melodious competitor. Still, keep an open mind. The differences between the furry little vermin and their human counterparts are indeed instructive.
