A Good Post from Kevin Jones...

...out Colorado way:

"Michael Carr is the Republican candidate for Colorado’s State Senate District 31...I saw Carr speak at a February meeting of the Coalition for a Conservative Majority as part of a panel on diversity in the conservative movement. Carr described himself as an Irish Catholic from the south side of Chicago. He now lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood with his partner. Carr brought up the Illinois civil unions bill and how he had supported it and lobbied for it..." Read the rest.

Civil unions are huge bad news for many reasons, and no conservative should regard them as some kind of livable compromise, but obviously this Michael Carr is a committed ideologue and doesn't even bother to give the appearance of moderation when it comes to their impact on society at large. That he would blather about how "the government has to remain neutral" when being asked about the government's *not* remaining neutral and *shutting down* Catholic adoption agencies is pretty darned telling. I'm glad to see that Kevin Jones has adopted my "zero sum game" phrase on the homosexual agenda. :-)

Why does something that calls itself the Coalition for a Conservative Majority need this guy's input, unless their idea of conservatism isn't wed to unchanging moral principles? 'Diversity' in that realm is oxymoronic.

Good point. Um, yeah. Maybe in Colorado you're conservative if you have an R on your shirt?
