From our 'Hitler was a Catholic' files, Dylan gives me another reason not to vote for Huckabee. Maybe Mr. Huck doesn't know blah blah... Maybe Mr. Huck has a responsibility to know.
As for Preacher Hagee, it seems that someone has told him the names of a few Church Fathers. I wonder if he's taken the time to read any of them.
I see you've declared a moratorium on politics until after Christmas. I should, if I am wise, follow suit.
And can I take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas? Hope you and yours enjoy the health and blessings of the season ... best wishes for 2008 ...
Just to update you. Plus I ahve some commentary Huckabee Disavows Hagee's Anti-Catholic Sentiments http://opinionatedcatholic.blogspot.com/2007/12/huckabee-disavows-hagees-anti-catholic.html
That's good to know, but that "John C. Hagee, senior pastor at the church, has told his congregation in the past that the Beast referred to in the Bible is actually the Catholic Church and the so-called Anti-Christ is the Pope," and that "the Catholic Church was implicit in its support of Adolph Hitler," is no small matter to me. A man of such stupefying ignorance should not be at the head of any Christian congregation, and that Huckabee still intends to speak there means it doesn't bother him all that much. But don't misunderstand the emphasis I'm placing on this. I wouldn't vote for Huckabee even if he weren't going.

hello Bill,
While I was googling for info about that Polish priest I mentioned in my post (I don't have Mr Weigel's book on hand, and am thinking that my unreliable memory may be inventing the story), I found a page detailing a horrible litany of abuses perpetrated by the Nazis against the Catholic clergy in Poland. Ample evidence that the Nazis and the Catholics were not friends.
