For this Sunday

No thought, but a referral to the blog of my former colleague at What's Wrong with the World, Lydia McGrew. (I'm the one whose former, not she). I'd forgotten she had that space, but it now appears she might update it with at least some regularity. It turns out she doesn't want to argue and philosophize all the time, and so today she posts the Sunday collect and shares her "rather unusual passion for Protestant hymns" by giving you a piece of one, sort of like Terry does at the Summamamas:

Some through the water
Some through the flood
Some through the fire
But all through the blood.
Some through great sorrow
But God gives a song
In the night season and all the day long.

She also claims a devotion to the old Anglican liturgy, which is what they use (I assume) at the church she attends. Her About Me says: "I'm a homemaker and homeschooling mom in southwestern Michigan. I also write analytic philosophy articles."

I'll wager that's a fairly rare juxtaposition. Anyway, take a look and check back now and then. Maybe say Hi.

Lydia is a bright lady with a lot of good things to say. Thanks for the link.

Now what's with this "former colleague" business? Have you retired from WWWTW? If so, that's a crying shame.

Homemaking, homeschooliing writer of analytic philosophy...a rare juxtaposition indeed. And they just don't leave room for that on forms that ask OCCUPATION.

:)

Bright, yes. Maybe even brilliant. Unless she disagrees with me; then she goes back to being bright.

Ellyn, that's because people who make up forms don't know what's really important. Like your new picture, btw.
