Well, I do know my girls. And probably not enough about guys, since I have one sister and no brothers. So most of what I learned about men I learned from my dad. (My sister and I have blamed him for any of our problems with men. He was honest, kind, loving, even tempered, stalwart...just a really, deeply, truly good man. And we grew up thinking all men were that way. :) )

Perhaps guys also deteriorate when left alone as a pack. I did once visit my husband fraternity house in Minneapolis. It was the type of place that inspires funny National Lampoon movies...

Still...if I had to choose between cat or frat, I'd go with the frat. Even though some of my best friends are women.

Over the years I've heard a lot of girls wonder why none of the men they meet are like their fathers.

Perhaps guys also deteriorate when left alone as a pack. I love that. You know men better than you think. (They also deteriorate when left alone, period.)

Some say the whole priest scandal wouldn't have happened if we'd have had the nuns living with the priests and making sure none of that stuff was going on.

By 'living with' I presume you mean in separate quarters. If the fellow's proclivity is toward boys, I think the presence of a virginal, watchdog nun would provide an excellent irritant.

Re: "living with". Ha, yes, good catch.

If I only met men like you dad, I would never win any arguments...and you know every woman likes to be right:)

You've won every argument we've ever had, though not through the use of logic.

Logic is overrated. Good to see Bern grace these airwaves!

Congratulations to you both - it is wonderful that you permitted us the gift of being able to salute you on your 33rd (what a number!)
