I think he's eating one right now. I don't want him to mellow out. I want him going after things, even if he can't get to them. Had to smack him on the snout last night because he bit his mistress who was trying to take something out of his mouth. It made Bern cry, but the dog got over it real quick and he learned a lesson.William Lusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928946919078483848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1129830725865478502005-10-20T13:52:00.000-04:002005-10-20T13:52:00.000-04:00Hi Bill,I posted this in the comments of my own do...Hi Bill,

I posted this in the comments of my own dog post, but I thought I would post it here too.

I usually don't like Chihuahuas that much, but Cedar is a cute little thing. :-) If you don't get him neutered, you may want to get him a little stuffed toy or a blanket or something. But then, of course, it will need to be washed. (Ewwww!) I think you're better off getting him neutered. Seriously, it will mellow him out and make him a better pet.

Also, I'd like to add...if there is a female in heat within *miles* of where you are, Cedar will smell her and will try to escape so he can go find her. Hormones are powerful things. So it's really a good thing to get him neutered if you don't plan on breeding him.Susan B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14075079470118678320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128624059267896952005-10-06T14:40:00.000-04:002005-10-06T14:40:00.000-04:00Yes ma'am.Yes ma'am.William Lusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928946919078483848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128549130200911292005-10-05T17:52:00.000-04:002005-10-05T17:52:00.000-04:00They look like rats when you're 4.They look like rats when you're 4.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128536897515887952005-10-05T14:28:00.000-04:002005-10-05T14:28:00.000-04:00Neuticles. As to the mating game, we're getting to the point where I'm in possession of more information than I really need. This dog is so small we can't let it out of our sight. I'm afraid a neighborhood cat will eat it. So there won't be any opportunities for illicit liasons. And if there's going to be a dog around this house, it's going to be a he or a she, not an it.William Lusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928946919078483848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128451465626966302005-10-04T14:44:00.000-04:002005-10-04T14:44:00.000-04:00And what's wrong with looking like a rat ?BTW, I a...And what's wrong with looking like a rat ?

BTW, I agree with your daughter on the neutering thing. You'd be surprised how ingenious male dogs, and female dogs in heat, can be when it comes to sex. I've read of a mating which took place through a chain-link fence ! Female dogs happily scrunch, and male dogs happily climb, to reduce the impact of a size discrepancy. Witness the Great Dane breeder I read of, who caught her neighbor's Miniature Daschund trying his luck with her in-season females ! (She caught him before they had worked out the logistics..but they were trying !)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09015745990344837357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128373017164070242005-10-03T16:56:00.000-04:002005-10-03T16:56:00.000-04:00This dog does not look like a rat. This dog does not look like a rat.William Lusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928946919078483848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128344658311476542005-10-03T09:04:00.000-04:002005-10-03T09:04:00.000-04:00He probably won't get much bigger. The Smock has one, named Chi-chi (and no, not for the golfer) and it's about that big, fully grown.

I've never liked them much, though my big ole hulking son would really like to own one. When he was little, the lady who lived across the street from us had one. She dressed it up in little coats when it was cold when she took him for a walk. It was so funny to watch her walk that little bit of dog on a leash! One day, Zack was watching her out of his bedroom window and started yelling, "Mom, mom, come and see this!"

I of course, rushed in. There he was jumping up and down on his bed, "Look, Mama! It's a Rat on a Rope!"

And that's what we've called them ever since!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3712012.post-1128319259741109222005-10-03T02:00:00.000-04:002005-10-03T02:00:00.000-04:00Do you think he'll get much bigger?
